Roy Lewis awarded Grand Cross
Ill. Joe R. Manning, Jr., 33º, informed me
that Br. Roy J. Lewis, 33º, long time President of the Tulsa Scottish
Rite Charitable & Educational Foundation, has been selected as
a 2011 recipient of the Grand Cross of the Court of Honour by the
Supreme Council.
The Grand Cross of the Court of Honour is the highest decoration that
can be bestowed on an Inspector General Honorary in the Southern
Jurisdiction; very few Scottish Rite Masons are recognized in this
manner.
Br. Roy is a member of Hartford Lodge #609, in Hartford, AR, and became
a Scottish Rite Mason in 1975. Br. Roy is a retired high school
principal with the Tulsa Public Schools. He is active in many civic and
charitable organizations as well as in Scottish Rite.

Br. Joe Manning elected Sovereign Grand Inspector General in Oklahoma
Ill. Joe R. Manning, Jr., 33º has been elected
Sovereign Grand Inspector General in Oklahoma. In this capacity, he
will serve as member of the Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite for
the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States.
This is a great personal honor for Br. Joe, and certainly speaks well
for Oklahoma Scottish Rite as a whole. The Supreme Council consists of
only 33 Sovereign Grand Inspectors General. Since there are more than
33 Orients, the chief executive of the remaining Orients is a Deputy of
the Supreme Council appointed by the Grand Commander. Br. Joe was
appointed Deputy of the Supreme Council in Oklahoma in 2010.
Congratulations to Br. Joe on his election as Sovereign Grand Inspector
General in Oklahoma!
